MySportsGuru web technology, animation

Challenge:
MySportsGuru.com needed to develop an innovative new technology to allow them to provide detailed sports instruction on the web, but still be accessible to lowest common denominator users. The technology needed to provide several different types of instructional content, support overhead views, side views, front views, close ups, and tracking views, each with detailed instructional points and be highly automated to minimize development costs and achieve an average 1.5K target per frame of animation. Once developed this technology needed to be used to develop large amounts of instructional content to meet a tight deadline for the launch of MySportGuru.com.
 
Solution:
Catalyst, after researching and integrating the best currently available technologies, developed a first for the web, the 3D motion capture to Flash instructional technology that is used throughout the site. Several different modules were developed to support a variety of instructional needs: full body views of athletes, detailed close ups and field of play instruction. Each module utilizes the same underlying technology in a different manner and each meets or exceeds the technical and functional requirements established by the client. Catalyst developed hundreds of animations using this technology and MySportsGuru's deadline for launch was met.
